The Apothecary of Sorrows was founded in 2021; our mission is to create a collection of ritual candles, charms, oils, kits, and altar jars with the main intention of emotional and spiritual well-being to help bring balance to other peoples’ lives with magick. Pieces of Selenite are on top and buried within the candle; selenite elevates the spirit and resets stagnant energy. Selenite gets its name from Selena goddess of the Moon which astrologically is a luminary that governs our emotion.
Ritual: Carve your significant other’s name or initials into the candle, have them carve yours into the candle as well. Each one of you may choose a wick to light, meditate on your bond, love for one another, and connection as you light the candle together. This candle will burn for approximately 60-70 hours, you can light it regularly as a reminder of your connection and love for one another or light it on special occasions. When it’s finally finished burning dispose of any remnants by burying near a tree somewhere that’s significant to you, keep the rose quartz to symbolize the depth of your connection, the strength of your emotional bond, and the pureness of your love for one another.
Home Cleansing + Protection Ritual Candle

Cast iron cauldron candle intuitively crafted using soy wax, Yerba Santa, cedar sprigs, and moss agate. Comes with witches bell to sound-cleanse your space before beginning your ritual.
Yerba Santa- burn for protection, commonly used as an offering to spirits/the dead. As an offering, you may leave it at your altar or burn it.

Season of the Witch - Altar Oil

Season Of The Witch is an anointing oil/ritual oil made with the Autumn season in mind. Use to anoint your skin, candles, or ritual items particularly during Mabon, Samhain, and Halloween all of which are times associated with ancestral work, divination, and honoring/communicating with the dead in regards to magick.
Made with patchouli, sandalwood, and clove essential oils and herbs. Packaged in a 1oz black dropper bottle with pentagram charm and Palo Santo.
Patchouli and sandalwood are associated with the goddess Hecate; know as the mother of witches and represents the triple moon goddess (mother, maiden, crone).
Clove is used for protection and to ward off negative presences; important when doing any spellwork/rituals especially opening yourself to divination and working with the dead.
Allspice is used in spellwork to promote determination and manifesting energy; another important aspect of spellwork and conducting your rituals effectively.
Hecate Invocation Oil

Hecate Invocation Oil is made to honor the Greek Goddess Hecate; known as the goddess of magick and witches. Hecate is often called on to aid in protection of the home, for her feminine strength, necromancy, divination, and other magickal rites and rituals. Use in a bath before spell work involving Hecate, to anoint yourself to honor/call on her, to dress candles, anoint ritual tools, divination tools, doorways, or paper petitions/journals. Made with herbs and essential oils closely associated with her including Mullein, lavender, Sandlewood, and Frankincense.
Hecate’s domains include crossroads, doorways, and the underworld. She is represented by the moon, triple goddess, nocturnal creatures and is associated with magick, sorcery, the dead, herbal knowledge, poisons, and the unknown. She can often be seen holding a torch and key but has also appeared as three-headed or three-bodied, each face/body representing the three aspects of the triple goddess as mentioned above (mother, maiden, crone). Hecate is often worshiped in home shrines as a means of protection from unwanted spirits and ghosts much like she protects her domain, the underworld.
Hecate Invocation Oil may be used by anyone who wants to establish a connection with her and may be used to anoint candles, ritual tools, oneself, and doorways in the home to call on and welcome Hecate into your home. She is commonly worked with and called upon for protection and rituals that concern enhancing one’s own personal power or that work in the magickal realm.
The New Moon is associated with Hecate and that’s when it’s recommended to call on her/leave offerings. Offerings may include wine, honey, pomegranate, dark chocolates, cinnamon, and fish. You may leave the key attached to the bottle on an altar for her as well as a simple printed-out photo of her. Use black or white candles when performing rituals in her honor/calling on her, anoint both yourself and candles since you’re asking her to help guide you. You can write out a petition to Hecate as part of the ritual but it’s recommended you speak directly to her, leave leftovers from any Hecate ritual at a crossroads.
